Armidale (RAN), ship loss on 1 December. Survivors got away in at least one raft and one whaler. A Catalina flying boat spotted the raft on the 7th and food was dropped the next day. The whaler was also located, food and water dropped, and the occupants rescued by HMAS Kalgooria on the 9th. HMAS Vigilant and aircraft were despatched on the 10th to relocate the raft, but it was never found. The occupants, who were lost, follow:
