1. The logbook naval events have been formatted but not edited. The quality and quantity of transcribed information therefore varies, and may include from 3 up to 6 versions of the same data depending on the number of volunteers working on the originals.

2. Latitude/longitude, including for days in port, were computed by the climate science project as being the most representative location for each day. As such, they typically differ by varying amounts from the locations recorded in the log pages. Refer to the log scan pages for the positions as originally recorded.
